Message from the Sunrise Country Club President

Welcome to Sunrise Country Club, “the friendliest club in the desert.”  As a new homeowner or non-resident member, it’s easy to make new friends.  Other members stop and chat with you on your walk or at coffee in the Grille.  With our mixer format in golf and informal matches in tennis and pickleball, within a few months you will have many new friends.  The warm and friendly atmosphere at Sunrise is a big plus.

Centrally located in the Coachella Valley, we are in the heart of beautiful Rancho Mirage near The River shopping center, Eisenhower Medical Center, and world-class shops and dining on El Paseo.  Surrounded by spectacular views of the Santa Rosa and San Joaquin Mountains Sunrise is an oasis in the desert.

Sunrise is a private, member-owned and member-operated club with many wonderful amenities including golf, tennis, pickleball and numerous other activities.  The par 64 golf course, designed by Ted Robinson, is challenging for both the seasoned and novice golfer.  Rounds typically can be completed in three hours or less.  Our tennis facilities are second only to the Tennis Gardens at Indian Wells.  Sunrise hosts the National Collegiate Tennis Classic annually with ten of the top college teams in the United States competing.  Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the country and Sunrise, in addition to four regulation courts, has the facilities to expand.

We are fortunate that Sunrise is located in one of the most wind-sheltered areas.  Wind can greatly affect outdoor activities in the Coachella Valley.  Engineers performed an extensive study of wind patterns throughout the valley before deciding the best location to build the Thunderbird Country Club—our next-door neighbor.  The developer of Sunrise Country Club used this information to full advantage, deciding to build in the same ideal location.

Please explore our website further for more information on what Sunrise Country Club is all about.  The members of Sunrise welcome you to visit our club and experience first hand “the friendliest club in the desert.”  We hope to see you soon.
